Applicants for WPG Pony should first have a conversation with a trainer to determine whether they are suitable for the role and understand what being a pony entails.
I have noticed that completely new pony aspirants often do not know how to walk properly. This means that they only move using the keyboard. The first step would then be to teach them how to run using Buttgrab and Mouselook.
Once this has been done, the pony is given the title: “WPG Pony Aspirant.” The pony also receives the note card “Pony Training Notecard Pony Trainee…” This includes the following points: 1. Conversation with trainer/stable mistress 2. Pony tack 3. Pony behavior 4. Whip signals carting incl. pulling a cart 5. Whip signals whip circle (basic) 6. Slalom, simple, error-free (walking and running) 7. Barrel, simple, error-free (running) 8. Steeple, simple, error-free 9. Dressage basics 10. Flower basics 11. Polo basics
As a pony trainee, perfection is not yet important; instead, the pony should first be shown and explained the most important disciplines and allowed to perform them. This is the second level, the basic training, so to speak.
Once the trainer certifies that the pony has learned these things, the trainer promotes the pony to
Level 2 : “Wild Pony Trainee”
and the pony is given the note card: “Pony Training Note Card Wild Pony …”.
In this class, the pony’s skills are improved. At this stage, the pony proves that it not only knows these disciplines, but also has a good command of them. The results are entered on the note card to document the progress and motivate the pony. If everything is to the satisfaction of the trainers, the pony is promoted to the rank of a full-fledged
Level 3: WPG Stable Pony.
The pony receives the note card “Pony Training Note Card Super Wild Pony …” Here, the skills are documented again with better results. Once the pony has completed all of this, it is a
Level 4: “Super Wild Pony.”
It should be noted that the trainers keep an eye on the social behavior of the ponies at all times, and this will also be part of the Pony Card.
